Insurance reduction certificate? What's that?
As MrHKer is learning to drive with a class 7 learner license, his driving school had provided an all in one package, for 15 hours of online theory learning about safe driving, in addition to the 10 hours of practice behind the wheel.
How does this work?
By completing the 15 hours theory (of safe driving), then doing 10 hours of driving practice. In between, you can also sit for the in-class safe driving exam (pass mark 80%), all regardless of having taken your class 5 test.
What's the benefits?
- Being a safer driver
- Reinforcing existing knowledge about the traffic code (and in my case, learning a few new things too)
- Some insurance companies will recognize the certificate and give you a discount on your car insurance
In MrHKer's case, the course was included in the driving lessons and he had no choice than pass it anyway. It was not tough, but it did consumed 15 hours (of videos and reading).
