We are very grateful for using the referral code we put on the blog page and we also hope it helped you as well. All I can say, on our side, it was a pleasant happy surprise because there are thousands of referral codes all around and you picked ours 😀😀.
MrHKer put them up because initially, he had enrolled for many of these services (internet, bank, mobile...etc) and only later found out that we could get some money if we had used referral codes. Even when looking for them around, he had to check several websites and only came up with the idea to put them on the blog to help anyone in the same situation to get some discounts (but expending lesser effort to do so).
Also a quick update on our experience using Rakuten:
So, basically, many things are not eligible for cashback, eg at Amazon, only the things of the Amazon brand will be eligible. And at Walmart, only some things excluding groceries... And last month, we did buy a few things due to the Black Friday deals. And out of the $45 we accumulated, most of it came through 1 referral code ($30) used, and we sure hope the user got the $30 on his/her side too. But $15 of cashback as opposed to nothing on purchases we were going to make anyway is still respectable 👏. Did you install the browser extension for Rakuten? If you do, please note we installed it on a separate browser because it tracks the websites you browsed. We are ok with that but given how privacy issues arise here and there, we installed it on a browser we use for shopping only, so, it won't track your banking, education, emails or gaming activities for example.
