Local produces from Canada

The local produce made in Canada

Wherever we go in the supermarket, we find many things are locally produced:

  • Dairy (especially milk)
  • Meat
  • Eggs
  • Vegetables (carrots, dry onions, tomatoes, cabbage, lettuce, sweet corn, broccoli and peppers)
  • Wheat and some grains
  • Timber
  • Other items (mattresses, some electronics...)
So, when we go to the market, we'd find and prioritize the local produces and also focus on local communities too (as opposed to the big corporations - always better to fill the pockets of local communities... of course we cannot avoid the big companies but if we had to choose between a local community product and a big corporation's, then it's the community that gets our customership).

Why do I need to mention this? Well, remember Hagen Dazs in HK is so expensive (HK$110)? Well, in Canada, made from Canadian milk, it costs CA$4.94 (or HK$31.20 - based on CA$1 = HK$6.30). Feast your eyes on this:

For meat and eggs, it's also cheaper for the price-weight ratio.
